Health authorities in Korea are on full alert after a suspected Middle East Respiratory Syndrome patient who died on Monday tested positive for the virus, marking the first case in the current outbreak.
The Ministry of Health and Welfare confirmed on Tuesday that the 58-year-old female patient who died of respiratory had tested positive for Mers testing.
Doctors say her condition worsened after coming into contact with the nation's first MERS patient when they shared the same hospital in mid-May.
Another patient also died from the disease overnight.
The 71-year-old patient was receiving treatment in an isolation ward after contracting the virus from the first patient. Officials announced six more cases infected with the virus today, raising the total number of confirmed cases to 25.
What's more even concerning is that among the six patients, two of them never had any contact with the first patient.
Meanwhile,
A local newspaper reported today, the health condition of a 44-year-old Korean man, who was confirmed to have Middle East Respiratory Syndrome in China has turned stable,.

Two Koreas failed to reach an agreement on joint summit anniversary in June.
Civilian representatives from South and North Korea have agreed to hold joint events last month to mark the 15th anniversary of a historic inter-Korean summit in mid-June, the first of its kind in five years
However North Korea committee sent a fax to South Korea committee blaming South Korean government that the 15th anniversary of an inter-Korean summit should be held in Seoul and Pyungyang separately.
The anniversary marks the June 15th, 2000 summit between former South Korean President Kim Dae-jung and then-North Korean leader Kim Jong-il.

North Korea has again refused to participate in the long-stalled six-party talks over its nuclear program.
According to the German press agency dpa, North Korea's Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Kung Sok-ung made the statement Monday, during a meeting with the chairman of the German-Korean parliamentary group, Koschyk who was visiting Pyongyang.
The North Korean minister said North Korea will no longer sit at the same negotiating table with the U.S., since it was clear Washington was threatening Pyongyang.
The statement comes as South Korea and the U.S. began a massive joint anti-submarine drills to tackle North Korea's threats.

Preparations have started for prime minister nominee Hwang Kyo-ahn's confirmation hearings scheduled for next Monday through Wednesday.
The presidential office hopes to conclude all parliamentary procedures for the confirmation session before President Park Geun-hye visits the U.S. in mid-June.

The Bank of Korea said today that South Korea's monthly current account surplus narrowed in April from a four-month high in the previous month but continued to extend its surplus streak to a 38th straight month.
According to the provisional data released by the Bank of Korea, the current account surplus reached 8.14 billion US dollars last month, down from a $10.43 billion surplus in March.
The current account is the broadest measure of cross-border trade. Moving to weather forecast, Seoul is under a mix of sun and clouds this morning. Clouds conditions are in the forecast this afternoon, with daytime high peaking at 29 degrees in Seoul.
Central inland and southern areas will be under overcast skies with light showers expected to move in this evening.
